The Children Melting Glaciers & Drinkable Water

As of 2020 there were approximately 73.0 million children under 18 in the United States, 1 in 5 persons. Tragically, mitigation efforts to return greenhouse gases to pre-industrial levels, have failed to maintain the 1.5° Celsius as mandated by the Paris Agreement UNFCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), a legally binding international UN treaty adopted by 196 parties in Paris on December 12, 2015, at COP 21.

Glaciers have become another consequence of climate change, and are melting at an alarmingly rapid rate, threatening the Earth's main source of fresh water.

“NEW YORK, 22 March 2017– Some 600 million children – or 1 in 4 children worldwide – will be living in areas with extremely limited water resources by 2040, according to a UNICEF report released on World Water Day.”
